Jupiter
Inlet Colony
is
in Palm Beach County,
approximately twelve miles north of Palm Beach Shores on the southeast
coast of Florida. A beautiful place with the outer edges with
miles
of exquisite coastline offer all types of beach activities, and biking
along Jupiter’s beautiful
beachfront
is a popular activity for both locals and visitors. Guided kayak and canoe
tours along the Loxahatchee River are available in Jupiter, and the area
also lures lots of scuba divers.
Just northeast from the town of Jupiter is the southern tip of Jupiter
Island. As part of the “Treasure Coast” of Florida, Jupiter Island is 17
miles long and is the
southernmost of
Florida’s
three barrier islands. While in Jupiter, be sure to visit Palm Beach
County’s oldest structure, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. This redbrick,
105-foot-tall building has been in operation since 1860 and tours are
given every half-hour. Jupiter offers a variety of restaurants and
lodging, and all of the quaint boutiques, galleries and upscale shops of
Palm Beach are
just a short drive away. |
